In FNF XE, players use arrow keys on the keyboard to match the beats and rhythms of the music. As notes approach the bottom of the screen, players need to press the corresponding arrow key at the right time to score points. Successfully hitting notes in rhythm with the music allows the player to progress through the song and defeat opponents.
